I Teach classes at several locations around the Kansas City area and chances are one will be near you. Call or email me for class schedules, times, locations and prices.
Puppy Classes are 5 weeks long, one hour per week. We cover come, sit, down, stay, walking on a leash and also cover playbiting, chewing, digging, jumping-up, trash raiding and barking. We also have 2 play sessions for the people and their pets. It is a well-rounded kindergarden class.
In Advance Puppy Class, it is 4 weeks long, one hour per week, we cover, wait at the door, stay, distance commands, confidence building, going through a tunnel, the high jump, off, no jumping, etc.
"Beginner's Basic Adult Class". These classes are a puppy class for older dogs that are just beginning to start training. Some people, for one reason or the other, were not able to attend a puppy class when their dog was young or did not adopt until later in life and need to get going. So look at puppy class description.
So give me a call and let's get you and your pet started on the road to better behavior.
Guidelines
1. The whole family in encouraged to attend, but, children under the age of 7 must be pre-approved by Dennis.
2. If you cannot make the first class you must re-schedule the entire class program, as the first class sets the tone for all remaining classes.
3. Dog aggressive or people aggressive dogs will not be permitted in class. Private lessons will be available for these pets.
4. Please try to arrive for class on time, as class will start at the appointed time and pet social time will begin. Pets that come in late will miss playtime and that can be disruptive to the rest of the class.
5. Lets try to keep cell phone interruption to a minimum. We must be respectfull for all in class.
6. Please bring a leash not to exceed 6 feet in length. Expandable leashes are discouraged because we do things that require the leash to be on the ground, out of your hands, and that big plastic casing will drag across the floor and scare your pet. Nylon or leather leashes are just fine. The cheaper the better.
7. You are encouraged to bring your own training treats, we will discuss in the first class good and bad treats. Dennis will have several varieties of treats available to try out, the lower in fat content the better.
8. You are encouraged to bring a positive attitude and an open mind, we are going to have fun and learn how to train in a relaxed and reward based environment, after all this is kindergaten and beginning lessons, not military school. So see you in class!
